  1. No one hurt

Made Dec 8, 2012, sent to the company Jan 2, 2013, published by CPSC Jan 16, 2013

The product, in the report: I provided all of this information previous except that item is approximately 2x3 inches with a headband/strap to keep it on your head. The lights are LED.

I placed three AAA batteries into a headlight/headlamp/flashlight that I bought from Target. It was labeled as Item #CORE-HL made by PerfectSense in China. It shows it is distributed by Core Distribution, Inc. Minneapolis, MN 55401. Also on the tag is DPCI #234-08-0038. The sku is 898140000833. After I placed the three batteries inside the battery “pack” and put it inside the body of the headlight, it immediately began to smoke. I pulled out the battery pack, check the polarity on the batteries and found them to be correct. I then removed and reinserted them and the batter pack warmed up to the point where it was almost hot enough to burn me. I removed the batteries again and I am returning the product to the Target store.
