The product, in the report: Sakar Jeep 12 LED multi purpose tripod flashlight
Opened the Jeep 12 LED multi purpose tripod flashlight and inserted the 3-AAA as instructed. First set of batteries did not work so removed the battery pack and the pack was hot to the touch. Inserted a second set of fresh AAA batteries and they did not work so took out the second set and this set was extremely touch almost burning my palm when I held the pack. Obviously a short in the pack causing the batteries to heat up.
Contacted the manufacturer via email (no response) and phone (twice). The CSR on the phone was unhelpful and unable to assist beyond the scripted conversation due to limited english. Offered to return the product for their examination but not a part of their script so the went into an infinite loop regarding waiting 5 minutes and reinserting another set of batteries turning it on for xx minutes turning it off, waiting xx minutes then turning it back on and it should work. Great, in the mean time it’ll probably catch on fire.
Company needs CSRs that can speak the native language of the consumer they are conversing with to enable effective communication.
