  1. No one hurt

Made Sep 3, 2024, sent to the company Sep 6, 2024, published by CPSC Sep 20, 2024

The product, in the report: Insulating Cordless Room Darkening Roman Shade $8” Wide by 72” long, White

The mechanism for a cordless window shade failed suddenly sending an eleven inch spring rocketing a cross the room and impacting a wall with such force as to create a hole in the sheetrock wall six feet three inches away. The spring broke through a plastic end cap sending sharp pieces of plastic all over the room. This is the fifth such failure of this model cordless shade and the most dramatic.
