The product, in the report: Faux Wood custom size window blinds
I purchased a number of Levelor Faux Wood Blinds at Lowe’s in July for our new home. The blinds, which were custom cut to approximatly 31 and 1/2 inches are VERY heavy, and they come with pressed steel mounting brackets. Following the instructions, I installed the blinds, and in my office, I shortened the blinds to fit the windows. I am careful when I raise and lower the blinds to NOT pull the cords out to release the stop widget, but pull, tug, in a straight line under the blinds.
Nevertheless, on THREE different occassions, the blind’s mounting brack door has flown open three different times, causing the entire blind, slats, cords, inner workings and working housing to fall at me and on me.
I contacted Levalor on Saturday, January 9, 2016 via email, and today received a generic message back that neither addressed what has happened, or provided how to fix this.
The problem is that the stamped steel “gate” on the mounting doesn’t have a long enough tab to lock the blind into the housing.
I am not asking for anything other than some sort of fix to help keep the heavy bling in place.
