Hurt, no treatment Made Jul 24, 2016, sent to the company Aug 3, 2016, published by CPSC Aug 24, 2016
The product, in the report: Budget Blinds manufactured by Lafayette Blinds in GA. We purchased 3 full length vertical blinds and 2 half window length (Watergate Desert Beige) and 6 honeycomb (Lafayette Glass Beach Antique White)
My husband and I bought blinds for our entire house but they emitted such noxious, nauseating fumes that they had to be removed the next day. The odor was so powerful that our eyes, noses, throats, brains, and spinal cords burned. We had tremors and headache. The company stored the blinds for two months to out-gas but when they were reinstalled, the same thing happened. They are currently in our garage because [REDACTED] ruled that there is nothing wrong with the blinds materially. We spent just short of $4,000 to have our health and immune systems put in jeopardy. The company refused to give the MSDS to us and are proud that their product is made in the United States.
