  1. No one hurt

The product, in the report: 2 Large 15 light Chandeliers

I have 2 large 15 light chandeliers of the same model and manufacture hanging in my family room. They were bought and installed by the builder 12 yrs ago approximately. We have owned the house for the past 4.5 years. The chandeliers, and in fact all other lights and fixture are original to the house and have never been taken down or changed. WE have not even had to change the bulbs on the 2 large chandeliers that I am reporting today.

About 6 mo ago one of the large chandeliers fell due to a defective chain link that broke. The chandelier fell about 10 feet and smashed a table under it and of course it broke many of its arms. At the time, we had everything repaired and rehung BOTH chandeliers with new steel chains to be safe.

Last week the OTHER chandelier fell just a few minutes after my kids had been walking under it. The second chandelier broke where the chain (now steel) hooked onto the hanging column via a loop in the design. The material seems to be some sort of resin that just snapped again. It is the same material as the chain link that broke before. The fact that NOW 2 of the same chandeliers have fallen due to faulty material makes me believe this is a SERIOUS safety risk.

I have attempted to contact the builder, the retailer and the company that sold the chandeliers. The company that sold the chandeliers to the retailer is SAVOY HOUSE LIGHTING and the retailer in MACON GA is American Lighting. The builder is TONY BUTLER. I was told there is no warranty and since they can not ensure that the chandelier were hung correctly or used correctly, they will not warrant the materials.

I have owned many chandeliers in my lifetime and some have hung in my home for 30 years. Under normal use, and cleaning there should not be any reason to even write this note. I know both the builder and the original owners of the house when it was built. The chandeliers have had not undue usage and have been cleaned only a few times. All the bulbs are original as well.

I would like to ensure no one is injured due to these DEFECTIVE and DANGEROUSLY made large chandeliers. I have pictures and am happy to have someone come to the house to inspect the items and see for themselves. So fat the original seller, SAVOY HOUSE LIGHTING and the retailer, have blown off my concerns rather than taking ownership of these defective materials and coming to the house to at least look over the issues.
