The product, in the report: Project Source 65-Watt Equivalent White LED Recessed Retrofit Downlight (Fits Housing Diameter: 5-in or 6-In) - Lowes item #739122

I recently purchased 8 of the Project Source 65-Watt Equivalent White LED Recessed Retrofit Downlight (Fits Housing Diameter: 5-in or 6-In) from Lowes (item # 739122) and ran them through a Lutron Diva 1-Amp 150-Watt White 3-Way CFL/LED Preset Dimmer (Lowes item # 160613). They have been in my house since the end of October, 2015. On December 26, 2015, we experienced a “brownout” on our street. When it happened, the lights began to flicker. My wife turned off the dimmer switch to these lights. When the power was restored, only three of the eight lights worked. I pulled the lights that didn’t work out of the ceiling and I noticed that the plastic housing that is above the light itself and contains the small circuit board was melted on the side and the top. The circuit board was also burned out and was charred. When I pulled the circuit board out of the plastic housing, it was clear that there had been a flame burning inside the housing. Lastly, I noticed when I was taking the fixture out of the can light housing, and with the switch on and the light screwed into the base, when I would place my hands on the top of the light fixture, the light would come on but dimly. Take your hands away, and the light goes off. This happened as long as the light fixture was attached to the can housing. The next day, I took the three lights out that were still working and found that they had burn marks in the plastic housing as well.
