The product, in the report: GT-Lite, model GT-SL5000-LINK, LED Linkable Shop Light, Lumens - 5000, Watts - 55 W, CCT - 4000K Cool White, Power Supply - 5Ft SJT Grounded Plug
I purchased several GT-Lite fixtures from a local store. The model number is GT-SL5000-Link. I installed two in my garage without incident. I then installed one in my basement between the discharge and return furnace ducts. On initial power up, I felt a slight tingle when the switch was cycled. I then accidentally jostled the fixture and it made contact with the duct work and the circuit fuse blew. I contacted the supplier and reported the problem. They were helpful and I performed several tests but initially I was not able to reproduce the issue. After further testing I noted that when the ground conductor was missing the problem manifested itself. I presented this information to the manufacturer and they denied this was the case. (I had sent the original fixture back to them for their testing). They claim there is no problem with these fixtures-- but since then I have proven it on multiple fixtures and I am still in possession of these fixtures. The manufacturer says they had the units tested by ETL Intertek and the units passed all tests. I called ETL and they were not helpful. Hopefully, you can look into this issue and get these fixtures removed from the marketplace since they could easily harm someone (they tripped a 20 A circuit). I have much more information if you need. I have pictures showing the high voltage and a sketch depicting the tests I made. These documents are attached.
