The product, in the report: allen + roth Wall lamp fixtures Model #37208

    Dear sir/madam,

On September 22nd we purchased two (2) wall lamps.

    allen + roth, Model #37208, ITEM # 0266233

I installed them today on each side of the headboard in our bedroom. It was not an easy installation.

After inserting the 100w lightbulb in each fixture my wife and I noticed for the first time that the bulbs are EXTREMELY close to the bracket holding the lamp shade. We are concerned that this may actually be a FIRE HAZARD. In fact, with the other fixture (not pictured) that bulb is actually touching the lamp shade bracket! With the light on only five minutes, the lamp shade bracket became too hot to touch. With both fixtures the brackets are so close to the bulb that we’ll have to remove the bracket in order to change the bulb. We did not notice this in the display at your Sarasota store where the items were purchased.

We tried a 75w bulb; it was no better. We tried a compact fluorescent bulb but it wouldn’t fit. Your instructions say we can use a 100w bulb, Type A. If this is a special bulb, it should have been included in the box. In any case, we believe the lamps should have longer lampshade brackets to allow for greater clearance for the bulbs.

We await a response to the concerns expressed in this letter.

    Sincerely yours,

    [REDACTED] [REDACTED]
