The product, in the report: This is a White CFL Bulb manufactured by Feit Electric product # ESL18TM/ECO

We had a White CFL Eco Bulb melt out around the coil of the bulb where it attaches to the housing that is screwed into the light fixture. The light was on for only 3 or 4 minutes when it melted away from the housing and fell into the sink. When this happened it smelled like burnt plastic that created smoke and a spark of fire in the fixture. After reviewing it with Feit Electric they said this can happen with these types of bulbs. When I indicated it sparked with a small flame, apparently the housing that screws into the fixture has a retardant that will keep it from catching fire.
