The product, in the report: This product is a 6 inch wide U-Tube LED lamp for installation in a 2ft x 2ft recessed light fixture. Manufacturer RemPhos Technologies, Middletown, MA bldg 200 01949 Model Number: RPT-B-TotalTube-T8-G3-2FTU6-850-A Color 5000K, power 15W

I was electrically shocked by 277 volts AC while removing a LED U-Tube lamps from the light fixture. The potential for injury and or death is very great. The LED lamps have a metal plate on the top of the U-Tube lamp, maybe for strength, reflectivity or heat protection, The exact purpose is not listed anywhere. While removing the un-lit lamp from the 2x2 recessed light fixture I had to get the lamp out of the holder on the end opposite to the socket/lampholders. My left hand was prying the lamp from the holder with my thumb on the fixture and upon placing my finger onto the metal lamp piece I received 277Volts through my hand between the thumb and finger. Yes I was on a step ladder while doing this . My hand immediately pulled back and had I not been properly situated on the ladder I could have fallen to the ground . I am a New Jersey Licensed Electrician. The product was a RemPhos Technologies Model Number RPT-B-Total Tube-T8-G3-2FTU6-850-A, color 5000K, 15W
