The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No one hurt

Made Jun 28, 2012, sent to the company Jul 6, 2012, published by CPSC Jul 20, 2012

The product, in the report: 23-watt CFL lightbulb used for a 71-inch tall floor lamp

I bought a floor lamp from Target, under the brand Room Essentials. (Floor lamp, black painted finish, plastic shade, rotary switch)

    http://www.target.com/p/room-essentials-steel-floor-lamp-black/-/A-11266163

It came with a 23-watt CFL from a company called Tospo Lighting. As I was twisting the light bulb onto the floor lamp, it shattered in my hand into many fine pieces. I didn’t sustain any cuts, but I’m concerned because it box says the light bulb contains mercury.

Furthermore, this is not the first time that I’ve seen a defective lightbulb from this product. I’ve returned and exchanged the same product twice before because the lightbulb was shattered when I opened the box. I’d like to see this product (at least the light bulb) recalled.
