The product, in the report: LED bulbs Night Lights Sold in 2 packs @ $3.99 per pack
Caller stated that the Night lights using Led bulbs after using them for 3-4 weeks developed scorch marks. She is concerned that these bulbs are unsafe because they might start an electrical fire, especially when they are being used in children’s rooms.
The manufacturer was not contacted.
Caller feels that these night lights should be taken of the market.
Update from consent form: Please note: Some information I gave when reporting safety issue was omitted on the report. The products are “Night Lights” that plug directly into electrical outlets to provide low light for nurserys and childrens rooms etc. These lights use an LED bulb and house a sensor that activates bulb when it gets dark at night. After approximately 3 weeks a burn mark appeared on both night light casings indicative of high heat. The numbers on the night lights are: LED Night Light No. A676306 L114534A3 2013 UL LLC ML053 E344672 120V ac, 0.72W 60Hz made in China Note: These Night Lights appear to be sold under various brand names.
