The product, in the report: Honeywell 48” shop light. Part number SH445505B299 Model SH445505B299 |

I mounted 3 Honeywell 48” LED Shop lights in a series configuration in a small shop I work in. After just a couple of hours I came into contact with the corded end of one of the lights and found it to be excessively hot. I checked the other two and using an infared temperature tester found temperatures up to 194 degrees. I checked another that I had installed in my attic at home and recorded 165 degrees after only 30 minutes. As a retired engineering technician I believe this to be excessive heat caused by high current. I also believe that the temperature might have continued to climb and resulted in at a minimum a failure of the light and at a maximum, a fire.
