    The product, in the report: Halogen bulb. BROADA, SDF - 24W, 120V 60Hz 2700K, 380mA. Listed E304860, 35NY.

Halogen bulb suddenly started to smoke. I was able to switch it off and leave quickly. I had to move children away and ventilate house for several hours. The smoke was severe. Even with ventilation and staying away, I coughed. I believe, that in the case, if I won’t notice the smoke, it can easily lead to death of my child (3 month old).

    Information about bulb: BROADA, SDF - 24W, 120V 60Hz 2700K, 380mA. Listed E304860, 35NY.

The product, in the report: Feit Electric Halogen Bulb

I replaced a halogen bulb in the light fixture on my ceiling fan over 3 months ago. I used the Feit Electric Halogen bulb. The bulb says it doesn’t have to be replaced for 2000 hours. A couple of days ago, we were in the kitchen eating lunch. I heard an explosion come from the spare bedroom. When I went to see what had happen, I found the halogen bulb had exploded, it shattered the glass that surrounds the bulb. The pieces had flown all over the room. The drippings from the bulb melted into the carpet. I tried calling the company that made the bulb to see why this happen. My grand kids play in this room all the time. If they had been in there, they would have been showered with glass and burnt from the bulb. The company asked me how I replaced the bulb. I told them by hand. The bulb has two prongs that slip into the electrical fixture. There is no other way to change the bulb. The lady from the company wanted to send me a replacement bulb. She told me I shouldn’t have changed it by hand. How else do you change a bulb? I asked an electrician the same question and he said I changed the bulb correctly. I was so frustrated with the company, I just hung up. What if it had injured a child? The company didn’t seem interested in finding out what caused the bulb to explode. I gave them the UPC Code because I happen to keep the package in case I needed to replace a bulb again. I’m still using the fan, but I wouldn’t dare turn the light on again. I’m going to replace the fan with regular lighting as soon as I can buy one.
