The product, in the report: Light bulb 60w modified spectrum General purpose halogen bulbs 4 pack
The GE ultra soft white 60w incandescent modified spectrum replacement light bulb was being used in a side table lamp. The lamp takes up to a 60w light bulb. Installed new light bulb on Saturday and on Wednesday at approximately 6pm after being on for about 1-1/2 hours the light bulb just exploded. Shards of glass everywhere. Have had other light bulbs in this particular lamp for well over a year and have never had this happen. Saved some of the larger pieces and base of the shattered bulb. Will be taking back to place of purchase...Target. This is a seriously dangerous situation. We were just lucky that we were not injured. Checked on line and this seems to be happening quite often. These bulbs should not be for sale. They should all be recalled and taken off shelves before someone is seriously injured. Thankfully we were home when it occurred. I would hate to think what could have also happened if we were not home.
