The reports, as CPSC published them

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: 3-Step Steel Step Stool
The bottom step of the step stool broke when I put my right foot on it. I weigh less than 200 lbs., and the step stool had only received 6 weeks of normal use. I was slightly injured, spraining my foot and cutting my foot on the rivet head exposed when the step broke. I think the step needs to be reinforced, because the extra width of the step ladder -- a key design feature that makes it safer -- also increases the moment arm torquing the step from the ladder frame.
