The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Tricam: 2 step stool, model TR 1W

Product: Stool by Tricam, model TR 1W, 2 steps

I opened the above stool placing it next to my car so that I could reach the top of the car while washing it. I had used this stool many times before in this same capacity without a problem. This time, as I reached the top step , a wet sponge in one hand, the hose spray nozzle in the other, the stool collapsed beneath me. The entire stool frame had bent 5 to 10 degree to one side and I noted that one of the stool legs was bent inward! ( I weigh about 160 lbs.) This step stool does not have a locking step and I feel that this is why the stool was able to collapse. I believe it and others without a locking step should be taken off the market.
