  1. Hurt, no treatment

Made Aug 21, 2014, sent to the company Aug 29, 2014, published by CPSC Sep 15, 2014

The product, in the report: From product website: “The Tip Pee Toe™ Toddler Step Stool is a folding, portable child step stool designed for travel and potty training. The step stool’s compact design makes it easy take in your purse or diaper bag so your kids are able reach the potty and sink while traveling or at home. It is light weight, compact, holds up to 50 pounds, stands 5.5 inches high when opened, and has non-skid feet.”

I was with my 3 year old son in a public restroom of our local park. The step stool was properly unfolded and locked into place and put in front of the toilet for him to use. He stepped onto the stool and was suddenly on the floor. The space for your child to stand on is very narrow and if he/she doesn’t stand exactly in the center to distribute weight evenly, it topples over very easily! My poor son fell off the step stool this way three separate times, and hurt himself (luckily didn’t hit his head), so I don’t think it was a fluke. My son is not especially clumsy for a 3-year-old and he is well under the weight limit for this product. (He was less than 30 pounds at the time of the first incident). He got a bruise on his knee but did not need medical attention.
