The product, in the report: SDADI Kitchen Stool in Wood Finish, Model Number LT05
This report is about a SDADI Kitchen Step Stool. My four year old attempted to dismount from the step stool, and the entire structure tipped over, sending him to the ground. Barely an hour later, my two year old attempted to mount the step stool, and the entire structure tipped over again, landing on top of her.

First aid Made Sep 16, 2025, sent to the company Sep 18, 2025, published by CPSC Nov 14, 2025
The product, in the report: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D7M5HG8B?ref_=ppx_printOD_title_dt_b_fed_asin_title_0_0&th=1 SDADI Adjustable Height Kids Kitchen Step Stool with Removable Safety Rails and Anti-Slip Protection- Toddler Standing Tower with with Ring Toss for Learning and Playing (Beige and Blue) Product Dimensions 18.1”D x 15.3”W x 35.4”H Brand SDADI Color Beige and Blue Special Feature Adjustable Height, Heavy Duty, Lightweight, Non-Skid Feet Room Type Bathroom, Bedroom, Kitchen, Nursery, Playroom It is one of many in a product line using this same manufacturing method of injection molded plastics, not to be confused with higher priced models made of sturdier materials such as wood with metal fasteners. This one is all plastic, even the fasteners; there’s literally no metal or adhesive holding it together.
My 19 month old son was standing on a children’s kitchen step stool, holding onto the top crossbar when that top crossbar suddenly broke on both sides, letting him fall head-first to the floor about 20” off the ground. Fortunately, he only got a bad bump and bruise on his forehead. Had it been worse, he could have broken his neck or died. It happened right in front of a home security camera, so I have it on video. I also have pictures of the failure points in the product which makes it very clear why it broke. The stool is constructed entirely of thin-walled HDPE (high density polyethylene, plastic) and can’t withstand the torque of even a baby. What’s worse is that this manufacturing method is used across an entire product line and is distributed by all of the major retailers. The manufacturer is SDADI.
“SDADI Adjustable Height Kids Kitchen Step Stool with Removable Safety Rails and Anti-Slip Protection- Toddler Standing Tower with with Ring Toss for Learning and Playing” is how it’s marketed on Amazon.
