  1. No one hurt

Made May 3, 2023, sent to the company May 18, 2023, published by CPSC Jun 2, 2023

The product, in the report: Room 2 Room Folding Step Stool. It is 11in x 8.3in x 8.6in (28cm x 21cm x 22cm). Light blue color. Stated max weight is 200lbs.

I just bought a foldable step stool at Five Below and used it for the first time on 5/1/2023. I unfolded the stool, made sure it was locked into place, and stood on it on my flat kitchen floor to place a glass in an upper cabinet. While I was standing on it, the leg of the stool snapped in half and shattered apart, causing me to fall down and drop the glass onto the counter and all over the floor. I very easily could have cut up my foot and lower leg on all the broken plastic shards of the stool as well as on the glass that fell, and/or broken my arm catching myself in the fall, or hit my head on the counter behind me. Luckily, and surprisingly, I was not injured. The label on the stool states that the weight limit is 200 pounds - my weight is approximately 140lbs.
