The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. Emergency room

Made Oct 11, 2026, sent to the company Oct 21, 2026, published by CPSC Nov 4, 2026

The product, in the report: Corepacific 12” All purpose step stool. Barcode ID 67693 02202 item is sold at Walmart stores. Made in Taiwan distributed by Corepacific 4000 Leeland St. Huston TX

12” Corepacific all purpose stepstool collapsed under me while I was working. The weight limit for the stool is 300lbs. I am 175lbs. The stool is a folding stool and the plastic latches (tabs) that hold it open are poorly made and fail frequently. The plastic latches folded and failed to keep the lock in place while my full body weight was on it. This is the second one to fail on me. The first was taken back to Walmart and exchanged for the identical product (which caused my injury). I am making this report because the product appears to have poor quality control and is a safety hazzard to anyone who may use it. As a result of the failure of the stool, and my fall to the ground, I was taken to the ER where I was diagnosed with a avulsion fracture of the femoral condyle at my left knee and a tear of the LCL ligament in the knee. I am awaiting further medical appointments to assess any additional injuries to the knee.
