The product, in the report: Black and Decker Stowaway step stool. 2 steps, white with black steps
My husband suffered a partial amputation of the middle finger of his left hand when a Black and Decker two step stepstool collapsed underneath him while he was moving it and sliced the top joint of his finger off, including the bone and nail. The doctors were unable to reattach the finger, even though we saved it in ice and carried it to the ER. He is suffering tremendous pain and will be unable to work for quite some time, as the partially amputated finger grows new skin. The doctor has told him he may require surgery after that to be able to feel in the fingertip.
We are both shocked that a simple stepladder could cut off a finger, bone and all, in one second. It’s terrifying.
