  1. Hurt, no treatment

Made Aug 12, 2020, sent to the company Sep 3, 2020, published by CPSC Sep 18, 2020

The product, in the report: Model EN 131[REDACTED] Lightweight folding step ladder Three step white folding kitchen ladder. 300 # capacity

I recently purchased a kitchen step ladder from Walmart. The ladder includes a safety catch to insure that the ladder does not collapse while in use. After very few uses-less than 10-the hinges had apparently stretched to the point where the safety hook could no longer reach the bar that it was meant to secure. My husband and I both had close class with the ladder starting to collapse when in use. It took a while to figure out what was wrong as the catch had worked initially. We thought we were not opening it properly.

I made four calls to Walmart, starting on July 4th and ending on July 6th. I was shuttled back and forth between departments and was eventually told that the ladder came from Goodlife Wholesale, phone number(855)633 3397. I called this number and explained the problem and was told that since the product had been ordered more than 60 days prior(04/02/2020)it was no longer eligible for return or exchange.

I discovered that the ladder is actually a [REDACTED] product. EN131 Folding Step Ladder [REDACTED]. Lightweight 300 pound capacity Anti-Slip 45.99$
