The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. Emergency room

Made Apr 10, 2015, sent to the company Apr 17, 2015, published by CPSC May 1, 2015

The product, in the report: Switch-It is a lightweight, industrial-strength for in-home, commercial, and professional use ladder. The Switch-It features extra-deep rungs and a wide-flared leg for extra comfort and stability. It can be used safely on stairs and uneven surfaces and includes the innovative no-pinch Comfort Step and the optional AirDeck Safety System.

I fell off the Switch-it stepladder when it suddenly folded/collapsed. I was on the stepladder 4-feet from the ground. The ladder was sitting on a flat patio surface while I was painting an outdoor ceiling structure. When the ladder collapsed, it sent me falling down onto the ladder. My forehead and nose hit the top of the ladder as I fell down and landed on my face.

Injuries sustained from the fall: - Bruising and swelling of the nose with superficial abrasion (nose fracture/bloody nose) - Bruising and large bump swelling of the upper right forehead - Sore neck - Bruising under right eye - Multiple contusions and abrasions (forearms and knees) - Soreness of feet and toes from falling step to step

Luckily, I was conscious enough to drive myself to the ER for medical assistance. I am very lucky to have survived this fall.
