The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Gorilla Ladders Easy Reach Pro Series

I was using The Easy Reach Pro Series step ladder manufactured by Gorilla Ladders/Tricamindustries on my driveway to replace a security camera battery. One of the legs completely snapped suddenly where it attaches to one of the steps and I was dumped backwards on my concrete driveway from from a height of about 30”. I hurt my back and elbow, but thankfully did not hit my head. I have the event partially on film since I was reaching for the camera, but you cannot see the ladder. My driveway has a slight slope, but not enough to warrant such a failure. The unit has a manufacture date of February 2014, had only been used for household tasks, and I’m the heaviest person in the house at 175#. Model Number: HBPro-13 / Lot Number L-316544

The product, in the report: Gorilla Ladder HB3-Pro

This is a 3-step ladder and was being used in a normal fashion to replace an air filter in a kitchen. The main platform step broke in two and I fell straight down between the legs of the ladder frame. On the way down, the broken rigged side of the newly broken platform caused lacerations and cuts on the backs of my legs. The suddenly fall was absorbed mostly through my right foot. No broken bones were recognized on xray. I now have a broken ladder taking up space while trying to contact the company for five days now. No return email or phone call. A couple hundred dollars of medical expenses and a couple hundred in lost wages have resulted so far, and I have yet to speak to a human at the company.
