No incident, no one hurt Made Aug 18, 2026, sent to the company Aug 24, 2026, published by CPSC Sep 9, 2026
The product, in the report: MIULEE Blackout Curtains for Bedroom and Living Room, 2 panels, black color, 40 x 63 inches per panel. The curtains are advertised as thermal insulated, room darkening, noise reducing, light blocking, and UV protection. The fabric label states 100% polyester and “Made in China.” The product is intended for indoor residential window use in bedrooms and living rooms.
I purchased these blackout curtains for use in my bedroom. After opening the package and installing the curtains indoors, I noticed a strong chemical odor coming from the fabric. The odor remained even after the curtains were aired out for several days. While using the product, I experienced eye irritation, throat discomfort, and headaches, and I became concerned about prolonged exposure in an enclosed indoor environment.
In addition, the product listing advertises UV protection and other performance features, but I could not find supporting testing information or clear compliance documentation. Because this product is intended for long-term indoor household use, I am concerned that consumers may unknowingly be exposed to potential health risks if the materials or coatings do not meet applicable safety expectations. I am submitting this report so the product can be reviewed for consumer safety.
