  1. Hurt, no treatment

Made May 15, 2011, published by CPSC Jun 7, 2011

The product, in the report: Heavyweight Shower Curtain Liner

I purchased a heavyweight shower curtain liner from Bed Bath and Beyond. Size 72” x 72”. Bar code 55604-81325 I installed the curtain in my bathtub. When I took a shower the same day, I was nearly overcome by the vapors from the vinyl curtain. Being in a confined space and with the heat and water vapors, it was quite overwhelming. The fumes of vapors were very strong. I felt lightheaded and had a terrible headache afterwards. I took the curtain liner down and put it outside and tried to air out the bathroom. The smell lingered for days afterwards.
