The product, in the report: Snow Melting Mat
The consumer indicates that her snow melting mat was placed going from her deck to her front door. The mat was on for two hours when the consumer went outside and noticed that it was smoking and smoldering. The consumer turned the unit off right away and unscrewed it, revealing a burnt deck.
The consumer contacted the Manufacturer and explained the situation; the representative she spoke to offered a replacement mat however the consumer rejected the offer as she no longer trusts the product. The consumer notes that this unit is a replacement for the original one they purchased which stopped working after one year.
The consumer states that the product was used three times for about half an hour.
The consumer plans on keeping the snow melting mat for at least the next thirty days in case an investigation ensues.
