The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. Hurt, no treatment

Made Dec 1, 2022, sent to the company Dec 7, 2022, published by CPSC Dec 21, 2022

The product, in the report: Door mat with the words welcome to our home.

My wife bought a door mat sold at Target and placed it at the outside threshold of our front door. Later in the evening we had guests over, on their way out our guest stepped onto the door mat and it slipped out from under her foot and she took a hard fall and twisted her ankle. I inspected the mat and noticed it had a hard surface and provided no nonslip properties. Target description details on this mat stated it had material that keeps it in place. I reported this product to Target safety department several weeks ago and to date no follow up has been done. This door mat when placed on a smooth surface like tile or composite decking will slip like ice. It is just a matter of time before someone has a life changing injury. I do have security video of this event.
