The product is a Moen chrome two-function 9” diameter spray head rain shower (Part No. S1311). The shower head non-serviceable plastic components failed and allowed the shower head to fall while not in use. This occurred while a child was taking a bath, striking him on the ankle.

The product, in the report: MOEN Model # LR2308W Internet # 202884186 Store SKU # 525595 Home Care 12 in. x 1.26 in. Suction Balance Assist Bar

    Moen makes a product called

MOEN Model # LR2308W Internet #[REDACTED]Store SKU # 525595 Home Care 12 in. x 1.26 in. Suction Balance Assist Bar

which installs in a shower area via suction cups. Of course, there are all sorts of disclaimers about the product not being designed to support a person’s full weight - understood. But, the implication of the product is that you should at least be able to grab on to it to help maintain some balance in the shower area.

We installed the device according to the directions and after several weeks, it came off in my wife’s hand. She was most certainly not using it to support anywhere near her full weight.

The implication of the product is that a user should be able to use it as my wife did, regardless of any disclaimers on the package, and not have it come off in your hand.

My wife was not injured and we have no interest in making any money from this; we have no lawsuits filed.

What we do want to do is get this product taken off of the shelves.

    Sincerely,

    [REDACTED] and [REDACTED]

The product, in the report: Moen Home Care Pause Control Handheld Shower, Chrome, Model # DN8001CH

I purchased a Moen Home Care Pause Control Handheld Shower in January 2012. About 11 months after we installed it, the tab that controls the different flow settings broke off when I was changing the setting and sliced my thumb open. I contacted the company right away to report it. Since it was still under warranty, they sent me a replacement. We installed the replacement showerhead in December 2012. This morning (11/19/13), I was adjusting the setting on the showerhead and the same thing happened - the tab broke off, slicing my thumb open. I again contacted the company to report the incident and speak with someone about my safety concerns. They are sending me a replacement under the warranty, and sending a return shipping label to send the broken showerheads to their Quality Lab for inspection. In no way have these showerheads been misused or abused, while we have owned them, that would cause the tabs to break.
