The product, in the report: Homeward Bath Chelsea Whirlpool tub MG015 does not complynn with 723.3 or have any certification or listing for plumbing valves. Inspector would not approve use.
bought at Lowe’s a Northeastern stand alone whirlpool tub model MG015. This tub is imported and sold by Homeward Bath of Ohio. After installation the local [REDACTED] Plumbing Sub Code Official inspected and ordered the removal of this tub. He stated that “tub is not approved for use in the USA”. The whirpool tub does not comply with several National Plumbing codes. The most obvious is a life safety issue namely 723.3. This requires 2 (TWO) inlets to the pump at different planes at least 3 feet apart. This is to protect against hair catching in one inlet and drowning a consumer. Homeward Bath has NO listing or certification on any of the plumbing in this tub. The defraud the public by claiming a ETL mark (Intertec) which is only for electrical. They have removed the tub from the Lowe’s website after a review was left. They are selling this product all over the net and Home Depot. This whirpool tun has NO certifications or listings and is a danger to the public.
