The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Delux Life Tub step-in/walk-in tub

I am a quadraplegic and I was sold a walk-in tab and assured many times that it would work in my particular home environment. It not only does not work, it is so painful and dangerous as to be a serious risk to my health. The only way I can be moved into and out of the tub is by being hoisted in a sling and moved with a ceiling ramp system - and the measurements from ceiling to top of the tub are shorter than my body in the sling forcing me to bend my neck and legs into an unnatural angle. The salesman repeatedly said this system would work for me; he was standing under the ceiling lift and was shown how it worked and was clearly aware of my significant limitations. Even once in the tub I cannot stay upright as the force of the jets pushs my body risking drowning. I have 60% comprised lung capacity and even a tiny amount of water is life threatening. The salesman and all the marketing by this company strongly advertise this product to disabled customers and they should carefully screen potential customers for potential hazards. All attempts to communicate with senior management of this company have failed. They refuse to listen and appreciate the risk and danger and they refuse to address the situation. I have experienced days of pain, discomfort and anxiety from having to forced into dangerous positions and inside the tub from the pummeling and jerking in the water.
