Emergency room Made Jun 30, 2019, sent to the company Jul 18, 2019, published by CPSC Aug 1, 2019
The product, in the report: The monsoon2 by Artika. Model number atl58-c2. Item 1161990. Upc 846979103454. Item is a shower caddy.
The item had been in place for almost a week. In the day in question my sister was taking a shower and the item lost pressure somehow and fell. Hitting her on the head and giving a mild concussion.
This is a shower caddy which is to be in the corner of the shower. The item has plastic teeth and gear system that you twist and create pressure against the ceiling and corner of the tub/shower. Using two separate (top and bottom) ways to move and create pressure.
I later on tried to place it back on and tighten it really tight thinking the initial installation was somehow loose. As I tightened the top, I eventually heard a click as the bottom had a tooth slipped. This caused a loss of pressure which made it loose. Through normal usage I believe that one of the plastic teeth slipped. Then the items placed in the shower caddy’s made it top heavy causing it to fall over.
A way to fix it would be to have a separate tightening system on top of its current system. When pressure is created, have a second bolt that you tighten which locks the extended bars in place.
