  1. Emergency room

Made Feb 18, 2014, sent to the company Mar 19, 2014, published by CPSC Apr 2, 2014

The product, in the report: Glass used in a shower door purchased November 2012. We paid extra for the glass with the coating to prevent etching. We may also have paid extra for the super clear glass without a greenish [REDACTED] tint. Purchased from All American Glass Work in San Ramon, via our general contractor [REDACTED]. I contacted All American Glass, who claims that they did contact the manufacturer, but I did not contact the manufacturer myself.

We had glass shower doors installed in a new shower in November 2012. This is a guest bathroom, and the new shower has been used less than 10 times. My daughter used the shower, slid the door open to get out, it bumped against the rubber guards and exploded. Glass shot into the shower enclosure as well as across the room hitting the far wall about 10 feet away. She had significant lacerations on her wrist and on the top of her foot as well as many other smaller nicks.

I rushed in, and laid out towels so that she could walk out.

Took her to the emergency room where she received 3 stitches in her wrist and 4 stitches in her foot.

Later in cleaning up the glass, most of it was in chunks, but there were also a few sharp shards.
