Subject: Complaint Regarding Shattering Shower Door and Safety Hazard
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to formally report a serious safety concern involving a recently installed shower door that unexpectedly shattered during installation. The shower door in question is a UNIKOOUKS04 56 to 60 in. W x 76 in. H U-Channel Sliding Frameless Shower Door in Brushed Nickel, EnduroShield 3/8” Clear Glass The glass door, which was newly purchased and had not yet been put into regular use, spontaneously shattered into numerous small pieces while being installed. This incident occurred without any apparent misuse or excessive force and resulted in multiple cuts to my arms. While my injuries were not life-threatening, the situation could have easily resulted in far more severe harm, particularly if a child or other vulnerable individual had been nearby.
A product of this nature—specifically one intended for use in a bathroom environment where bare skin exposure is expected—should meet strict safety and durability standards. The fact that it shattered so easily raises significant concerns about the quality of the materials, the manufacturing process, and whether the product meets applicable safety regulations.
I respectfully request that the Consumer Product Safety Commission investigate this matter to determine whether this product poses a broader risk to consumers. I am particularly concerned that similar incidents could occur in other households, potentially resulting in serious injuries.
I have sent a letter to Unikoo also concerning this safety measure requesting a resolution.
I am prepared to provide additional details, including product information, manufacturer details, photographs, and documentation of the incident, upon request.
Thank you for your attention to this important safety issue. I appreciate your efforts to protect consumers and prevent potentially dangerous products from remaining on the market.
