The product, in the report: Swinging Sterlin glass shower door. Cntractor informed me that he purchased the product from a Home Depo Store in Fort Hamilton Brooklyn and that it is a Sterling glass shower door. It is his understanding that Sterling is a division of the Kohler Company. The size of the door on the 1st floor, which cracked into massive small pieces was approximately 24”X71”. The size of the door on the 2nd floor which is still ok and functional is slightly wider. I believe it is 36x71”
On 12/25/2015 while standing next to the swinging Sterling glass shower door in my bath room, the door cracked all of a sudden into massive small pieces of glass, slightly cuting my left toe and my left hand finger. This door was installed by an independent contractor around June 2013 in the bath room on the first floor of my home. A smilar door was installed on the 2nd floor of my home and that cuases a great concern especially after searching the internet now and finding out that there is recall and injury history of Sterling glass shower doors. I have taken pictures of the damages. The damages were witnessed by my wife and a family friend. The picture of what remains of the damged door is attached to this report as well as a picture of a similar door on the 2nd floor of the house, which is still funtional.
