The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No one hurt

Made Nov 23, 2016, sent to the company Dec 21, 2016, published by CPSC Dec 16, 2016

The product, in the report: Curved Glass sliding tub/shower door made especially for the American Standard Tub. sliding by-pass bath doors come with tempered safety glass for safety housed in a bright silver frame. For use with an American Standard Saver® curved alcove bath tub set in an alcove installation.

Saver Sliding Bath Shower Door: Purchased and installed in our new house October, 2013. Contractor said it was very difficult to install and instructions not clear or well written.

Today, November 23, 2016 - we heard an “explosion” - One of the glass doors spontaneously exploded into thousands of pieces. Luckily, my daughter was not home at the time, and nobody was in the bathroom.

The product , manufactured by American Standard, is sold exclusively through Lowes. Since this happened, I’ve checked a variety of product reviews and it seems this has occurred numerous times, even only after being installed as little as 6 or 7 months. The product costs $400 and should not do this, EVER!

    This is a Safety Concern!
