The product, in the report: The product was a custom made glass frameless shower panel with attached door. It attaches to the shower wall and tub. The product was fitted and installed by Mirage Shower Doors of 1648 Bath Avenue Brooklyn, NY 11214. The system they used is referred to as “Railtec”.
A custom frameless glass shower door in my bathroom exploded and threw glass into the tub and out into the bathroom for no apparent reason. While the glass was tempered, this did not stop it from exploding in a manner hat discharged the glass fragments all about the room. The door was approximately three years old and I have no reason to suspect that it was incorrectly installed.
