The product, in the report: Maax but I’m not sure if the glass door came from the same company.
The product is our glass shower door in our master bathroom. The glass just spontaneously shattered for no reason. My wife had used our shower earlier that morning from 07:30 to 8 am. I’m just glad that it didn’t happened when my wife was taking a shower before work. It happened around 2 to 3 pm, I was sorting through our laundry when all of a sudden a heard a loud pop, almost like someone hit our shower door with a sledgehammer. I ducked my head as soon as I heard it go off and good thing because the glass went everywhere. It gave me some minor cuts on my right leg and arm but not life threatening ones. Good thing I wasn’t in the shower when it happened because I was about to take one right after I put in a load of laundry. We’ve been leaving in our home for only a year and was always careful with our door. I called DR Horton to complain about the matter. They told me that it happens and that it was a factory defect. It felt like they did t care and whenI heard that I got even more frustrated about what had just transpired. They told me that someone would contact me that day or the following day. We had a one year warranty for the house through DR Horton, I’m just hoping that they will fix it even though it been a year and a couple months. I’m reporting this unsafe incident just in case they make me fix the damages myself which I’m hoping doesn’t happen because it wasn’t our fault. My wife and is scared now to be behind the glass of our shower because the other side of the door is still intact but who knows if it might happen again.
