The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. Seen by a doctor or nurse

Made Nov 3, 2016, sent to the company Nov 14, 2016, published by CPSC Dec 6, 2016

The product, in the report: This is a Luxus brand of frameless slider shower door, 3/8 inch thick, silver, clear glass, with a vertical wall channel and a chrome towel bar on each of the two doors. It was purchased from a company called Mr. Shower Door, 646 Springfield St, Agawam, MA, which is now called Oasis Shower Doors, of the same address.

I was starting to slide the left hand glass shower door toward the right, when it suddenly exploded (maybe, imploded) into the bathtub, on the floor and onto my face and hands. There were hundreds of 1/2 inch sized pieces. My right hand was cut (my small finger was sliced), and since I take blood thinners, I began to bleed profusely. There were pieces of glass in my scalp, and my eyeglass lenses were scratched. I required a visit to an Urgent Care facility to stop the bleeding and wrap the cuts. The framing for the shower doors was quite nicked and needs replacement (as does the other shower door since we no longer trust it) and the bathtub needs refinishing.
