The product, in the report: Glass double shower door
Caller purchased his double shower door when his home was built in 2007 and had no problems at all with it until September 18th, 2014 around 4:30AM. Around 4:30AM when his wife was awakened to sound she described similar to someone dropping a bucket of marbles. They went to their bathroom and discovered that one side of their glass shower door had shattered. The glass shattered onto the floor of the bathroom because it had been open and on the outside of the the other side. The caller stated that the glass on the floor was still stress relieving for approximately ten to fifteen minutes and sounded like ice cracking.
He still has the door and the pieces of glass There were no injuries to report
The caller contacted the manufacturer September 18th, 2014 and was advised by a female representative that, “These things happen” and that he could purchase another door from a retailer. He would like to have this door replaced at manufacturer’s expense. There are no recalls with CPSC for his model. He has pictures and will include them with the return of his incident report after proof reading and signing.
