The product, in the report: The Heavy Glass Frameless Enclosure is an excellent choice for a clean look with elegance and class. It is available with operable vent for a steam unit as well as fixed splash panels. Our Heavy Glass Frameless Shower Enclosure is available in 3/8” or ½” domestic tempered glass in a variety of glass styles and finishes. (Customline Website)
While a 70-year-old guest was showering in our recently remodeled bathroom, 2 years ago, the glass door exploded into little pieces cutting her hand and leaving her naked, surrounded in glass, bleeding, and scared. When I called the local company, Customline Shower Company, they said this happens all the time, sometimes doors explode in their warehouse. They know this is a risk and that its common and yet they continue to install this potentially ‘explosive’ product. On doing research, this is common. The Customline representative said that it has something to do with the tempering process; how ironic that the danger is in the safety protocol. This could have been so much worse and for that, I am grateful but this is not ok.
