The product, in the report: Bi-pass shower door MODEL Z25-6084BNCL BI- PASS SHOWER DOOR 54”W X 78”H. BRUSHED NICKEL; CLEAR GLASS. I have a picture but this website won’t let me attach

This is a two-panel glass shower door from Contractors Wardrobe, installed by Home Depot in 2013. While no one was home one day, one glass panel completely exploded - shattering into thousands and thousands of tiny pieces all over my bathroom. It was terrifying - I can’t imagine what would have happened if I was in the bathroom when that happened.

I called Home Depot and they told me that they couldn’t do anything because it was out of warranty. I have contacted the manufacturer, Contractors Wardrobe. I am scared to replace the door with the same model, so I hope they will resolve this issue another way. Their product is incredibly dangerous.

The product, in the report: I had the wrong manufacturer listed above. The company who made the tub shower door( inside door shattered) is Contractors Wardrobe.

My 16 year old daughter was opened glass sliding door on bathtub after showering and the door exploded into pieces shattering and filing the tub with glass small pieces and covering the floor as well.

It was the inside door on a tub shower. It was purchased in 12/02/2012 from Home Depot. The manufacturer was Contract Wardrobe. The model number was #1050

She was cut on the right side of her nose near the bridge, close to her eyes that required 5 stitches at the emergency room. She also had many smaller cuts on her hands, and leg. The doctor found tiny pieces of glass embedded in her forehead and checked all cuts and removed any small glass fragments.

Her right breast also had a small cut but butterfly tape was used to hold the cut together.

The product, in the report: Glass door for shower/tub enclosure

Caller purchased a glass shower door around February 2010 and had no problems with it until June 30th, 2013 when her husband was stepping into the shower as he normally did when the glass on the left side of the glass door exploded with enough force to spread small shards of glass over the entire 5ft x 10ft bathroom. The glass cut the callers’ husband and he also had a pierce of glass embedded in the middle of the sole of his left foot.

Caller contacted the manufacturer around July 5th, 2013. The manufacturer advised caller to go to customer service at the retailers and if they had any problems with replacement being provided then have the retailer contact the manufacturer and they would approve replacement. Caller followed these instructions and she states that there was no problem obtaining the replacement left side of the shower door.

The contractor came to callers’ home on July 27th, 2013 to install the replacement left side of the door, he had both sides of the shower door off and as he picked up the right side it shattered in his hands. Contractor was no injured.

Caller is reporting this door as a severe safety issue due the to damage these incidents could cause anyone but especially a child or an elderly person.
