wife was trapped in shower when shower door hinge locked up
UPDATED ON 4/8/2025: [Failure of hinge on shower door to unlock.
Potential - result of failure traps person in shower stall. The door is tempered glass, will only open a quarter of and inch. There is no way to release the hinge, nor any room to allow the person to exit. If the trapped person lives alone, or other family members are gone for days the person is most likely naked, has no way to get help and if trapped for days could become life threatening, especially true for the elderly.]
I have found the provider of the hinge itself as [REDACTED] says not their product. The hinge is offered by CR Laurence Co. Inc [REDACTED], Los Angeles CA. The product is: Matt Black Vienna Series. V1E180MBL square hinge. I have described my experience with there customer support who said they would contact there product management department but have not heard from them.
