Emergency room Made Sep 6, 2020, sent to the company Oct 7, 2020, published by CPSC Nov 10, 2020
The product, in the report: Aston Vienne Frameless Sliding Shower Door
Shortly after showering, while drying off, the glass shower door spontaneously shattered. The door was not being touched, bumped, or moved when this happened. It shattered explosively, with hardware, metal handle, and broken glass flying away from the shower and covering every surface of the bathroom. The flying hardware pieces damaged wall and floor tiles, and the broken glass caused injuries to our daughter, who was nearest the door at the time of the incident. She had to receive emergency care at the hospital for lacerations and embedded glass, including multiple x-rays, sedation, and wound care.

The heavy metal rollers and handles also separate from the shower door as it erupted. The incident resulted in a chipped marble shower pan tile, a chipped porcelain floor tile, 3 rollers which broke on impact, and several (5-8) small lacerations each measuring less than ½”.
