First aid Made Jul 17, 2025, sent to the company Jul 21, 2025, published by CPSC Aug 4, 2025
The product, in the report: Arizona Shower Door Traditional Oil-rubbed bronze 56-in to 60-in W x 70.375-in H Semi-frameless Clear Glass Bypass Sliding Shower door
I saw the other reviews regarding the glass doors “exploding” and shrugged it off thinking that these people were either careless or lacked some kind of basic understanding of how to install a shower door. I was completely wrong. I handled the door as carefully as possible after reading all instructions carefully, and didn’t hit anything while moving it. Upon delicately placing the wheels into the top track the door glass instantly exploded in my hands. My wife and I both received lacerations to our hands, legs and feet which bled for several minutes. Fortunately we didn’t get any glass shards in our eyes. The cleanup effort was horrendous. This is not a problem with installation technique. It is most certainly a product problem. It blows my mind how this many people have experienced this and Lowes is STILL selling this product. It should be removed from the market. No one in their right mind would ever want a replacement because you would be terrified to try to install this thing a second time and every time you use the shower you would be wondering if the glass will explode at any moment.

Hurt, no treatment Made Sep 11, 2017, sent to the company Sep 19, 2017, published by CPSC Oct 3, 2017
The product, in the report: Tempered Glass shower doors
Arizona Shower Doors, delivered by Lowes on August 29, 2017. First of two panels exploded in my contractors’ faces as they lifted it for installation. There was no fault on their part. It appears to be defective tempering of the glass. Lowes at first denied any responsibility because their contractor was not doing the installation. I appealed to a supervisor and am awaiting further word. Arizona Doors specifically declines warranty of its glass doors in their online statements.
These doors are dangerous and should be withdrawn from the market until safety can be assured.

First aid Made Jul 28, 2017, sent to the company Aug 7, 2017, published by CPSC Aug 21, 2017
The product, in the report: ESE-5/16-60x74 1/2 - CH/CL 58x60 chrome/clear Frameless Euro Shower Slider Finished height 74 1/2” Shower head right With glass protection Purchase order no. 55976736
The shower door was being installed. The first panel was installed, and when the second panel was lifted and getting ready to install, the door shattered in the contractor’s hands and literally exploded. The glass dropped in segments while shards flew everywhere shooting sharp glass into all the areas in the vicinity. It pitted the first panel of glass that was installed, but that panel did not break. It deeply pitted the aluminum track on the bottom. It put a gouge in the newly installed vinyl plank flooring. And most importantly, it cut the hand of the contractor. He was able to pull a piece of glass out of his hand. He is okay. No stitches were required. It was a very frightening experience! There were three of us in the room. Fortunately no one else was injured, except for myself a few days later when I stepped on a small shard of glass in my heel, but was able to remove it without incident. I shudder to think what would have happened if I would have been taking a shower at the time! And I thank God that none of us were seriously injured. The panel that was already in place shielded the two of us standing outside the shower when it exploded.
The door was approximately 74x60”, with thicker glass. Arizona Shower Door brand from Lowe’s.

No one hurt Made Dec 6, 2014, sent to the company Dec 15, 2014, published by CPSC Jan 12, 2015
The product, in the report: Framed Traditional Enclosure Glass sliding shower door.
On the evening of 5 DEC 2014, one panel of the sliding glass shower door located in our master bathroom spontaneously shattered without any trauma to the doors. Fortunately no one was in the shower or the immediate area when it happened so injury was avoided . The glass shower door manufacturer is Arizona Shower Doors, Inc., Phoenix Arizona, 85017. The shower door was installed by the home builder in 2004 when the home was built. There is a huge safety concern that if anyone is in the shower or immediate area when this spontaneously happens there is potential for serious or even fatal injury.
