The product, in the report: Tile/Glass shower surround - glass door width that broke was 28.5 inches.
We have a shower kit from American Bath Factory installed in our home built 2 1/2 years ago. Yesterday, after my wife took a shower and left the room the glass door suddenly shattered to pieces. The door was left pushed inward to the shower (to drip) and was directly under a running bath exhaust fan. The sequence of events is really nothing new or different (this is typically how we use the shower and leave the door). The hinges were still securely fastened to the wall and there were shattered glass fragments still inside the two hinges. We are at a loss as to the sudden loss of our door. After contacting American Bath Factory, I was told this event was unprecedented and that either a temperature change or impact to the edge of the glass would be required for the glass to break.
