As each report says it, in short words; CPSC’s own words are under each.

The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No one hurt

Made Apr 17, 2023, sent to the company Apr 28, 2023, published by CPSC May 12, 2023

The product, in the report: Tresanti 47” Adjustable Height Desk Features: Includes Two 2.4 amp USB Inputs Height adjustable from 29.4” - 47” Wireless Desktop Charging Station Dry Erase Compatible Glass Top

I purchased an electric adjustable height desk from Costco on 3/13/2023 and upon assembling it on 3/24/23 and plugging it in I noticed a burning smell and quickly realized it was the built-in desktop phone/electronics charger because it was hot to the touch. I unplugged the desk and called the company immediately. The agent I spoke with told me to unplug the desk (which I already had done) and to not use it until a technician could replace the unit. Moreover, the company agent informed me this was being handled as an urgent, high priority issue due to it being a safety hazard and, therefore, I could expect to hear from their vendor technician within 48 hours. I called back today (4/17/23) because I have not been contacted yet and the new agent seemed far less concerned and told me to just wait to hear from the technician. When I asked for a ETA they responded to just wait until I was contacted. When I asked for the technician’s number so I could call them directly to schedule they said they didn’t have it. In the meantime I haven’t been able to use the desk to its full functionality (it’s been left unplugged) and I’m hesitant to plug it in so as not to start a fire or burn myself or my family.
