The product, in the report: The product is a (3) drawer dresser system being used as a nighstand between (2) queen beds at the [REDACTED]. It’s a particle board dresser with an oak-appearing plastic laminate finish. The size is 29” H x 16.5” D x 32” W.
I was staying at a [REDACTED], with my husband and two toddlers. The hotel has a (3) drawer dresser in place of a nightstand, which my toddlers started playing with at arrival. They pulled the top drawer fully out, and the dresser then fell onto both of them. We checked them for cuts, bruises, any dizziness or signs of injury, and made sure they were both alright. I called the front desk at about 7:10 pm MST to inform them of what happened, and ask that they mount the dresser as it’s not secure and we’re staying to two weeks. They told me that they’d file a work order and mount it for me in the morning. Nothing happened Monday or Tuesday, and I called Wednesday morning for an update. They didn’t have a work order, had blamed me for the tip over, and refused to do anything. I was transferred to the GM around 9:30 am, who said the same, and that they most they would do is put weight in the bottom drawer. I said that’s not enough and doesn’t secure it, and he hung up on me. I called corporate shortly after, when my first representative again insisted that they couldn’t help me, and that my children should be more careful. They’re 1 and 2, and this is the third [REDACTED] person who blamed us for the tip over, when simply pulling the drawer fully out. They tried to hang up on me, but I was transferred to a supervisor who made a report. They then mounted it to the headboard, which is mounted on particle board cleats. I told them it wasn’t enough, it needed to be mounted to a stud, and they left. They still haven’t remedied it.
It was a (3) drawer plastic laminate finish dresser with particle board construction. I have images of the tags and labels I can share.
